The goals of The Salvation Army are fueled by a vision that sees an end to poverty, hunger, and homelessness. A community where no child goes without food, shelter, or opportunity.
The sixth annual Invitational Golf Outing, “Swing Fore the Kettle”, will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019, at the Wisconsin Country Club. With the generous participation of our supporters over the past five years, we have raised over $500,000. The funds raised this year will be used to support children’s programs in the Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, particularly those staying at the Salvation Army’s homeless shelter, the Emergency Lodge.
Being homeless is a tragic situation for anyone, but the impact it has on children is almost unimaginable. The Salvation Army’s Emergency Lodge strives to create an environment where children and their families can feel warm, safe and loved. We aim to support this facility and the programs offered there that help children at the Lodge live out their childhood. Every child should be able to learn, play, and live happy young lives, without the worries of where they will sleep each night, or when they may eat their next meal.
