Registering for Summer Day Camp

There is a Day Camp registration fee of $100.00 per camper. This registration fee covers the cost of all crafts, snacks, transportation, and field trips, for your camper for the entire summer. Registration for Day Camp will begin in on March 4th. Space is limited and fills up fast so please register early.

The following is what a typical day at The Salvation Army  will look like for our day campers.

7:30 am to 9:00am: Day Camp Begins/Arrival Doors open at 7:30am where Parents and campers will be greeted by staff. Parents will sign in their kids using the SmartCare app on their personal electronic devices or the tablet provided in the front entrance. Counselors will direct each camper to the supervised activities for that particular morning. Campers’ activities will take place in the game room, in the gym, in the fellowship hall, on the playground, or in the chapel. We will change activities and rotate locations to meet the varied preferences of campers. Every morning a snack will be provided at approximately 8:45am. At 9:00am campers will be escorted to their homerooms.

9:00am to 3:00pm: Day Camp Small Group/Homeroom Activities Campers will be assigned to small groups/homerooms based on the grade they are going into in the fall. In the campers’ homeroom, their Counselors will take attendance, begin with an opening activity, and discuss the day’s plans. Every day, campers will move throughout the building and outside playing a variety of games, sports, activities, and arts and crafts that tie into our theme for the week. We have planned many activities for the diverse population of campers attending our camp. We realize each camper is unique and has certain skill sets, talents, and preferences. We expect students to participate in group activities but will also build in student-choice options whenever possible. Lunch will be at 11:30am daily for every group in their designated area - Please provide a packed lunch and water bottles for your camper daily. See Page 5 for more information regarding themes and field trips. Activities continue after lunch with their small groups/homerooms.  By 3:00pm, counselors will provide closing activities, go over announcements, and begin to release students as parents arrive. Parents will need to sign their children out on the same SmartCare app or tablet located in the entrance they signed their child into upon arrival.

3:00pm to 5:30pm: Day Camp Ending/Dismissal This will be similar to the start of the day, but we are well aware that campers have been busy bodies throughout the day. Staff and counselors will direct each camper to the supervised activities for that particular afternoon. Campers’ activities will take place in the computer lab, in the game room, in the gym, in the fellowship hall, on the playground, or in the chapel. We will change activities and rotate locations to meet the varied preferences of our campers. An afternoon snack will be provided at approximately 3:30pm.  Parents will need to sign their children out on the same SmartCare app or tablet located in the entrance they signed their child into upon arrival. Children need to be picked up by 5:30pm or late fees may be assessed.
